Vari’s Southern Cuisine

In search of soul food restaurants on the Westside of Chicago (suburbs) that is consistently good. Stumbled onto Vari's which owner says has been there for 9 month. It's carry-out and dine-in with decent tables and chairs after ordering at the counter. I ordered the catfish which was seasoned and fried to perfection. Nice thick, large pieces. Sides were spaghetti with meat sauce (prefer all together), and Mac&chez and corn muffin. Sides were small, altho, tasty. I also ordered fried rib tips which I was a pleasant surprise. Tips were very good (pic below) and I'd definitely reorder. Overall, the food is good, may be a bit pricey compared to similar restaurants, but it's good to have a decent soul food place on the west side of the city. I recommend trying them out. I don't know any place with fried rib tips so that's an advantage.

Dined in at Vari today. I was pleasantly greeted. Host (didn’t get her name) was very patient as I reviewed the menu and was undecided as there were so many great choices. Decided on fried pork chops dinner. I had 3 sides - greens, spaghetti, and Mac and cheese. Everything was hot and fresh. I topped it off with a large cup of kook-aid. (Even took a cup to go). Friendly atmosphere. I will definitely come back. The drive from Oswego was worth it.

What an experience! The ENERGY! The Owner and her daughter made us feel like we were family! They shared their story of success and provided us with top notch service. The food was delicious and was served nice and hot. I will definitely recommend. Thanks guys!

Me my brother and son came to town to make a delivery. After 16hrs we were hungry and settled for Chinese but we walked into this establishment. We ordered the fried ribs Mac n cheese corn and greens. All I can say is Anytime someone says the BEST fried ribs they should come here 1st. Everything was delicious. That Mac N Cheese‼️ #Yes....I'll be sure 2 go back

Best food I've ever had, seriously. Vari is so sweet and her food is delicious!! I had the Fried Catfish , mac and cheese , and garlic mash potatoes. 100/100 !!
