“First time here since they moved a hundred feet over in a brand new place. The counter now is huge with s bunch of tables also. I had to order the bowl of chili, hash browns and a double cheese for breakfast just to see if it was the same, and yes it is! Even better! Do your self a favor and hit one of the last great diners around. They even saved the sign!”

“Every flavoring fir a pizza you can imagine! Their catering is phenomenal! All food was perfectly cooked. They come in and do the set up for you. They are highly accessible and if there’s questions... they have an answer for you. The team of servers at the pizza shop are great. There’s a young lady their that knows me (sorry I can’t remember her name) on sight and basically knows what I order. I don’t know about you but when I go somewhere, and they know who I am and what I like... well... makes my day!”

As such, no restaurant-hunting excursion would be complete without a stop to one of Melrose Park’s truly iconic Italian establishments. Abruzzo’s. I’ve been there often and it truly “never gets old”. My personal favorite is their weekday, M-F, lunch buffet. I’m 100% Italian and as a group we can be VERY picky when it comes to our food. That’s why I keep returning. I know REAL Italian food the moment I taste it. To sound cliched, it reminds me of Mom’s. (WARNING: Don’t let Mom hear you say that.) In the Italian/American culture there is no higher compliment. Don’t waste your time deciding. Just Do It!”

“Great thin crust tavern style pizza with perfect sweet sausage is my go to here. Small menu because they own a full blown gourmet Italian joint right next door but you have to try their Rigatoni in Vodka sauce with crumbled sausage , it’s unreal ! Pick up a pizza and check out the patio next door and you’ll make reservations for the next weekend their. Love this place.”

“This was our first visit to Taverna and was recommended by friends . We came to the door and were immediately greeted and checked in for our reservation. The restaurant was gorgeous and bustling with customers. We were very early and were directed to the bar. We ordered a bottle of wine and took in the ambiance while noticing how such a good time everyone was having. The atmosphere was incredible, the service top notch, everyone was so friendly and the food was positively phenomenal! I highly recommend eating here.”

“Really great authentic Mexican food. Staff speaks some English. Try food such as stews, moles, and stewed chicharron. Food goes best with Sidral (apple soda) and Mexican beers, sold on site. There is also a bakery on site. Jimenez has locations in Little Village and Humboldt Park in Chicago. There are foods in the market that you won't find in the Latino food section of mainstream grocers.”

“Its been a while that I went here, but I just went there today. Ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken, which was delish! They give you a lot of food for one, but the food is also excellent.
