First time trying fried ribs. Pretty good. Yams were amazing with just the right sweetness & without being heavy. (That's skill.) Mac & cheese is legit! Not sure if the gravy on the smothered chicken is homemade, but it's clear the chicken itself was fresh & well seasoned. (Clean too as there were no feathers. Thank God.) Took off 1/2 star for the cabbage (a little salty because it may have been on the bottom). Clever packaging was fantastic for delivery, meaning no tampering. We will be back!)

I placed two orders of the fried chicken wings with greens, macaroni and cheese, and yams. I also ordered the fried catfish filet dinner. I have to say the food is ABSOLUTELY amazing. I really fell in love with the fried catfish. It was well-seasoned and the flavor was so extraordinary. The owner is very friendly and wanted to give the best presentation of her food. I WILL BE BACK.

L&J Soul Food is a fantastic takeout restaurant that I highly recommend. I've had the pleasure of ordering from them several times, and each experience has been exceptional. Their customer service is top-notch, and the quality of the food is outstanding. Whether you're in the mood for a classic soul food dish or something more adventurous, L&J Soul Food will not disappoint. Give them a try for a truly delicious takeout experience!

Amazing food! Drove an hour and a half each way and the food is amazing! Been back 3 times in less than a month.

I had the fried salmon, Mac and cheese and string beans with white potatoes. It was delicious. However the string bean and potatoes had been on too long but the flavor was on point. It’s only a take out restaurant at this time. The options are few due to the fact that they have scheduled good days and you can only get them on that particular day. The father is very humble and kind. The daughter who posted on TikTok is pleasant and kind. She’s a seller with confidence of the goodness of the food that they serve. You get plenty. My preference is to go back once we can sit down and eat for date night or for Sunday dinner after church. I wanted dressing and wasn’t able to get that. I would recommend this place if I only need to feed two.
