An Eastern European restaurant the northern subburbs of Chicago have been waiting for a long time. Very well thought out menu caters to the tastes of the locals and visitors alike. The food and drinks are as authentic as the Russian-speaking residents of the area. I also like their idea to borrow the name and the decor from the literary classic of the 1920s. Will be back for sure!

From the delicious food to the live music to the decor, this place has it all. All the food is great, but the borscht especially is incredible. I love seeing customers get up and dance with the live music, it really adds to the restaurant's atmosphere. The service is also fantastic- the staff are all very nice and friendly and go out of their way to provide excellent service for customers. Whether it's for a large gathering or just a casual meal, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. You won't regret it!

If you are looking for a place with delicious European food, 12 chairs would be your best bet. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with live music, furniture, bar, and decor. The food is delicious, I would recommend getting the Chicken Kiev with mashed potatoes. The borsh at the restaurant is unbelievable, probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The live music great, with many customers getting up and going to dance. The staff is very friendly and deliver great service to its customers. The best Russian restaurant I have been to over the years. 100% recommend!

Great place with very friendly staff. The restaurant has live music and a very live atmosphere. The European style cuisine reminds me of my childhood, such as the borsh that they have. They environment is great with many people getting up and dancing to the music. I like how the restaurant has a separate section with a bar on one half, where you can sit down and have a drink. Overall amazing place would definitely recommend.

What a great addition to the neighborhood! Went there last night to celebrate a birthday with a large group and was very impressed! The service was fast and genuinely friendly. The food was beyond words delicious with a home cooked quality. Because we were there in a large group we had an opportunity to taste many items off the menu and one thing was better than the next. Can’t wait to go back!
