“Excellent food! When you do order make sure you keep in mind this is a NEW business and to have PATIENCE. There was a technical difficulty with my order which caused me to wait some extra time but it was quickly fixed and I was on my way home in a jiffy. Prices are great for seafood (good seafood ain’t cheap and cheap seafood ain’t good) All around a very much needed addition to Dekalb. I highly recommend the crab dinner!”

“We went to Rise and Shine for the first time tonight 07/29/2020, They have only been open a week and a half at this point. First impression was the place looked great, very nice layout, nice tables and booths and flooring. I was a little surprised that there was still construction dust on the window ledges and the back of booths. We were greeted as we walked in, everybody was friendly. It was clear that our waitress was new to this job. She was friendly but did not know the menu. She could not tell us what sides came with the meals or if they had some items. She was prompt with our drinks and salads and soup. The salad was simple just lettuce one slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato and some cheese, the ranch dressing was very good. The soups were very good, however no bread basket which I expect with soup and salad and full meals. As we waited for our meal to be served the waitress came to the table several times. It took a long time for our food to be brought out to us. we waited about 50 minutes after placing the order. We ordered 3 of their specials. It was not busy, only 3 tables and us, they had 3 waitresses working, it was only 4pm on a Wednesday. My wife ordered the open faced turkey which came out cold, I had the fried cod, which was hot and good. A little over cooked and the waitress failed to bring out the potato, in fact she didn't know it came with veggie and potato, however my son ordered the boiled cod and she brought out his veggie and potato. He said his food was hot and very good. I think what had happened is they made my wife's meal first and had it sitting until the fish meals were done, causing it to get cold. We did not complain to the waitress because as i said it was clear it was her first waitress job and the restaurant had only been open a little over a week. So we were understanding of the situation. The prices were what we expected for this type of restaurant. This is a good location, good parking and parking lot. Over all for just opening I would give it 3 1/2 stars. We will be going back. I want to try their breakfast and fish fry. I hope they read this and continue to improve the service. I enjoy these type of places over the big chain places. I wish them good luck.”

“It's pretty much your average Chinese food place, but it hasn't failed me yet! I really like their dumplings, although they can be a bit oily. Many students who go to school here can attest that this is a solid food option and they are usually pretty fast in getting your food out to you. Def recommend”

“Nice restaurant with good food selections. It was nice that they support local beers on their menu. Had the Bacon burger and it had flavorful seasons in the meat. It was a double burger so a lot of burger. Did have a weird experience with the hostess asking if we needed boxes while we were still eating. It appeared that she was trying seat a group from the bar. However our waitress in no way rushed us. The place kept busy. A bit of noise between the music and talking level, nothing obnoxious. We will be back.”

“Place is clean, bagels and cream cheese, sandwiches delicious it's a little pricey for what it is, but everything is fresh. I would only ask that persons attending behind counter be a little more friendly when people ordering. Place is not packed at all and they seem in a tremendous hurry to get rid of anyone ordering. The window to the street is one of those full wall-length windows that they open during nice weather so it's super fun to sit by. “⛽️ Brand new location located right off Peace Road. It’s really helpful to have a place to fill up on the way to or from 88. The staff have always been kind and attentive every time I’ve dropped by. “Update: notice most the one star reviews are due to bad phone service. Yea the owners have thick Chinese accents, it's a Chinese restaurant ya dinguses. Use Eatstreet to order it, been doing that for 3 years and never had an issue. Best rounded Chinese restaurant on campus. I mean it's not a very tough competition but it's better than China One. If you wan to spend more go to Yen Chung which is fancier and a bit tastier. If you want to die a peasants death go try your luck at Happy Wok.”

“Not great but not bad. My food was great and my wife ended up sharing it because we never really saw our server after we got our food. My wife's chicken salad tasted like fish. We had to ask another server to track our server down to pay. They took the salad off and comped our drinks for the problem which was nice. Reply edit: we were seated at the center of the restaurant with a party of 9. Right of the main bar with all the beer cans but up a step and surrounded by railing. 2ish on Friday. As a side note, it was good and we would come back but just not order a salad. Our server took care of the problem. No complaints.”

“Not bad but not great. The pizzas were good. My brother ordered some wings and then our server came out and said they put the wrong sauce on them. But instead of fixing them, she just asked if we wanted them anyway. I suggested just tossing them in the ordered sauce over the messed up ones but our server said the kitchen would get mad at the request. They ended up doing it anyway instead of actually fixing it but they still came out cold.”
