Emmett's Brewing Company

Absolutely love this place!!! The burger was amazingly flavorful and juicy, the bun was fresh, the ingredients sang a wonderful harmony together!!! I was sick, terribly sick, just getting over the hill and on medication so I wasn’t contagious anymore. My husband went here the week before with his parents and he loved it! He took me the minute I could start tasting food again!!! The cheddar soup was amazing and everything was hot and fresh when it came out. We enjoyed our lunch and the server was wonderful. The beers were nice and they had a good selection as well. We go back here all the time and it’s still just as wonderful as the first time.

Always delivers great beers and good food. They've stepped up their nacho game. Comfortable place to hang in downtown Downers Grove.

Lovely atmosphere for either having a nice dinner or just grabbing a drink with friends. They have many TV is and will keep on sports on game nights. The drinks are delicious. I had a Cosmo and my date had an old fashion, so we can attest to their quality. Friendly service and bartending. However, it does get a bit loud at times, so I would suggest elsewhere to sit and chat.

I'm a regular patron here, so having said that; I've never been let down by the food or the service. No one server has been outwardly rude or given any effort less than a 3 star review; if we're ranking it with a five star system. The Tavern Tacos, the Fish, the sweet potato fries (with Sriracha Mayo dip) are the first thing I look forward to. The burgers are genuinely big and more than what you pay for; and the desserts, awesome. Emmett's also brew their own beer, right in their own facilities. I'd suggest The Peacekeeper which is more of a lager and or World's End, which is their IPA. I'm not a big IPA guy but, I was actually able to enjoy it, the hops are not overwhelming but you'll know it's an IPA.....

other than that the atmosphere is great. Lowlit, roomy so you're not stacked on top of each and on beautiful days you can go chill outside on the patio. Which I will say isn't the most comfortable but still nice. It's a little cramped (it's narrow) and this is one of the reasons why I give the service a range of 3 to 5 stars, because even though I know in the restaurant business things can get hectic and a bit chaotic at times, the patio is a good place of you have time and are not in a rush. Anyway Emmett's, sits in Downers Grove right on main street, the whole place is just cozy in a cozy town.

Everything here is great. There's a lot of care put into their dishes. They're creative, complex, and delicious. The price is right and the atmosphere is very inviting. This is my top pick for restaurants in a Downers Grove.
