It’s been over a year and a half since I’ve been here but used to frequent this place a lot because of the delicious authentic hyderabadi biryani and chicken 65/chili chicken. I hear it’s under new management now so don’t know how quality is now. The service is very poor though. This can be said if many desi restaurants unfortunately

Overall - Comfortable, trendy spot to relax but customer service needs work and the food I tried was just okay, but I’d have to try other, main menu items. I’ll probably give the food one more chance, but even if not, I’d still come just to do work or kick it over some chai bc it’s a relaxing environment (and there’s xfinity wifi)

    Pre-Reqs:

-Halal Certificate: Not displayed but employee said it is halal... ????

-Prayer Accomodations: Yes, prayer rugs available and open floor space ✅

-Lota: Yes, and full too ✅ Bathroom doesn’t have the decor appeal like the restaurant, but is clean. Paper towel machine wasn’t working or was empty. Toilet paper roll finished before I was done with no back-up ammo in sight ???? Only some hair in the sink. Had soap. No poolside wudu splash-splash ????????

Food - I had the keema (beef, no chicken option :/ but veg) samosas - they were very good - $1 a piece. The chutney it came with was also pretty good. Chai was pretty good, a little watery for me but pretty good flavor. Also only $1. I ordered the Chicken 65 paratha roll but it was not very good (although it looked pretty good). The chicken was definitely not chicken 65 - I think it might’ve been chicken chili - I had trouble communicating with the worker because his English wasn’t too good, but I was pretty sure we had agreed on Chicken 65, which is supposed to be deep fried and spicy and crispy and flavor-filled and semi-sweet.... but this chicken had barely any flavor. It just looked cool and red and was at least tender / juicy. It was a lot better though once I added the raita that comes with it. The paratha tasted / felt more like roti. One thing though is that, for the price ($5.99), the serving size / quantity was pretty decent

    Just give it a shot

    Additional Rambles:

Mughal first of all is a cool name, but they need to display it outside! There’s no banner showing the name, and the name of the previous restaurant there is gone, so it’s just blank and easy to miss. It just has a banner for “Under New Management”. On the inside door there’s an “MR” logo, but they need something official. “Mughal Empire” would be a way better name

That was the first impression, but once I walked inside, I was actually pleasantly surprised at the decor (at least compared to what I was expecting, which was more of a mom & pop, small take-out place with no decor). But they actually did a decent job at putting together a semi-upscale theme, with nice chandeliers and mouldings to go with the royalty and regality theme of the Mughal Empire (again, which is why I suggest the name tweak). It was very organized and overall clean looking, with the tables, chairs and setting all neatly arranged and it was much more spacious than I was expecting

The place was completely empty except for us and one employee at the counter, which wasn’t a good sign at first, but I came to like it because for whatever reason, there was something about this place that made it extremely peaceful and relaxing - the perfect spot to just sit and chill. Maybe it’s because we were the only ones there, and the summer sun was setting beautifully and slowly behind us (take the corner booth!) and we had the whole place to ourselves and could soak in the sun, the still decor, and the surprisingly good music that was at just the right volume. Perfect spot to just kick back and relax after a long day. Even a good place to get some work done (xfinity wifi catches here)

Additional Issues: There was only one employee but he really could not speak English properly, which made it difficult to order. He was friendly though and was trying. The paper menu did not match the hand-written menu on the whiteboards. It wasn’t clear what the “hot lunch box” was. I don’t think the main entrees come with any sides, or at least rice, but that was also not clear from the menu or employee. The credit card machine didn’t work at first, and I only had a $100 which he didn’t have change for, but luckily once he reset it it worked

You guys look good now just need to make the food & service match up!

    Good luck iA
