Portillo's Algonquin

Great spot for a new Portillo’s but the extra drive to Crystal Lake or Elgin is worth the time.
Ordered a big beef, extra gravy, with hot peppers, and mozzarella (mozzarella on the bottom of bread). Was given a regular Italian beef, a few bits of hot giard and a not so extra gravy.

This was the first Portillo’s I’ve been to that offers you a cup to fill up with pop on your own when you order inside… wasn’t used to it. I got my food, no drink and I ask the manager where my drink was. Proceeds to look at me like I’m crazy and tells me to go get my cup. Again, asking where to get it, an employee on the food line rushes back with a cup in hand.

Atmosphere is great! They’ve even got a cooler area while you wait in like for some take-me-home items. Really the only reason they’re not getting a one star…

We visited Portillo's during their soft opening, and I've got to say that we were very impressed with how efficient the entire service was. The restaurant was extremely busy and full, but we were able to get our large order within 7 minutes. The burgers taste great,and the fries were awesome! If you have a taste for some fast food, Portillo's is a great option!

Same great food and service that I have come to expect from Portillos! Have been waiting for it to open since it was announced. Not as big as some of the other locations but the food is still delicious, plus it's nice that they finally have a drink station so you can get your own refill
