Mockingbird Bar + Garden

The place is cute as all get-out. Seriously. It isn't very big, but they use the space and natural light very well.

My intention was to stop in for a light lunch. The plan was to get a Cafe Americana, Arugula Salad (with parmesan) and a Scone, which I did get, and it all exceeded expectations, especially that scone...dear lord. The fact that my drink came with a free apple pastry of some sort kind derailed this plan. The apple pastry was flaky and buttery and out of this world. So my light lunch was a bit more decadent than I intended, but I have no regrets. Everything was very, very good, and none of it was pre-prepared, heat and serve kind of food. The scone was made from scratch, so was the apple pastry, and I'm about 95% sure that the cheese for the salad was shaved off the block.

The employees were friendly, attentive and the service was quick. Granted, there we only a few other customers while I was there, but good service is good service regardless.

To recap: Cute place, great food (and a free item to boot), and good service. That checks every box.

What a great addition to the area. The service was great (and fun), the drinks were good and the pizza was delicious! Keep making it a fun place to visit.

A great local high end spot to wet your whistle and have unique delicious small bites. Owner was present and checking on her guests and making us feel personally invited. Will definitely be returning and can’t wait to see the outdoor, dog friendly area on the bike walk path.

Came in with friends for drinks and light dinner Fri.2/8/2019. Candy Crush Beer was great as was my Beet salad served in Endive leaves. Great flavors and beautiful presentation. Smoked whitefish Pate was delightful, as were the 3 'pies' - Mushroom, Sausage, and Cheese with Arugula sprinkled generously over the top. We will definitely be back and bring friends. Keep up the great work!

I grew up in Dundee and haven’t enjoyed a bar experience as much as I did at Mockingbird. Walked in a felt like I was in a movie! Live jazz music (Riley from the voice is a frequent artist there) and a bar design that would make Chip and Joanna Gaines drool made for a perfect modern, but homey vibe. Loved the cocktail selection and simple menus. Got to meet the family / owners and could tell they were the real deal. They might wanna think about adding space because this place is about to blow up!
