Edit: Edited from 2 star to 4 star. Regional manager must have heard of the issue and called us directly to apologize and offer us compensation. Turns out the situation wasn't typical. Normally they don't wait on all in-store customers before making online orders. Sounds like they worked it out with the store as well.
Original: Food is good, but very disappointed by service. We placed on online order 20 minutes in advance and when we showed up, they said they don't make online orders before they make in-store orders and there was a line of people. We were confused. "You mean that if people visit the store for lunch, you keep making them one after the other instead of based on when we placed our order online?" Their answer is yes. They looked at the line and said it would probably be another 25 minutes. That is one of the more ridiculous things I've heard, but that's their policy, so we cancelled the order and had to wait another 5 minutes for a refund. Went down the block to Subway and had sandwiches in 10 minutes.
I'm hoping when we call corporate about this situation that they are shocked and it's not their policy, otherwise I won't be ordering Jimmy John's again. How can you place an order online and have no idea when you're going to get it based on whether or not there is a line the store? Doesn't seem logical.
