Just returned from dinner. Loved the bass and grilled octopus. Beautiful atmosphere and great service
This place has a really interesting and unique decor and atmosphere. The food is similarly unique. Although I think the prices are a little too much to ask for a lot of the items on the menu.
My husband and I like coming here. While it is a bit pricey, it is completely worth it! The staff is soooo pleasant! We loved our last waitress. She was making our visit wonderful! The food and drinks are reasonably priced for what you get. I recommend the trout; it was surprisingly amazing! The cheese platter is a must as well!!
I will say you will likely need a reservation as the place does fill up! Also, they have some weird lighting and table arrangements. Just let them know if you want to move; sometimes the light will shine right down on you. I don't like to sit in the middle of the room so when I had asked for a table against the wall, it was no problem! The bar is fun to sit at as well. That being said, only if there is space. It does fill up.
They've changed the menu again, which is nice as it keeps it fresh, just don't get too attached to a favorite. We almost always order a sausage board - a variety of 3 different types, and tonight did not disappoint. We also ordered the scallops, which were very tasty and tender.
Just a great restaurant. Our favorite place in the western suburbs. Just as good as anything you will find in the city. A couple of unusual things to look for. Anything pickled. Also their soups are outstanding. They also have an outstanding Thanksgiving To Go. We leave the Turkey day dinner up to Niche.
