Tacos Jerez Huntley

Glad the closed down BK was turned into a Mexican restaurant, Asada and Carnitas tacos were delicious as were the Green chilaquiles, pastor was okay but don’t recommend if you like the Jalisco style Pastor. Can’t wait to try the menudo on the weekends. Finally some decent Mexican when compared to fastacos, tacos locos, Mary’s tacos, fuego, burrito parrilla and taquitos. Definitely coming back.

The food is really delicious! There are so many options that all are as good as the last. The service was great! Made the food fast, kept the place really clean, and loved that I had my kids eating with us. The only thing lacking was the atmosphere, I wish it felt more authentic and less like a great Mexican restaurant stuck in a fast food building. My family will be ordering from there again soon!!

We have dined in twice since the restaurant opened and we definitely will be regular customers! The interior of the restaurant is very clean and the renovations all look great! The food has been excellent both times we have visited and it’s so great to have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the Huntley area. They have 5 different salsas to choose from and they are all delicious, that is definitely a plus. You get 1 order of free chips and salsa also when you are dining in! The menu has a great selection of items to choose from and we definitely look forward to our next visit to Tacos Jerez.

As expected with any new restaurants in an area, it was busy. There were obvious hiccups with a new restaurant opening. That is to be expected and in no way changed my opinion or review.

My family and I came and while there were no seating available, we opted for carry out. Staff were very friendly. Food tasted great, but wait time was long. We placed our order for my wife, 2 kids, and I and was told about 10 minutes. I knew it would probably be longer however we did end up waiting almost an hour. The kitchen staff seemed to place the order tickets up in queue, but my guess is it wasn't in order as they received it or possibly my order got placed somewhere else along the queue.

Food was delicious. Comparing it to their Elgin location, it was just as good! We ordered 5 tacos, a gordita, and 2 kids chicken nugget meals along with some drinks. The horchata tasted great. Much better than when we had it in the Elgin location (Elgin location tasted a bit powdery). The gordita was excellent and makes me want more. The tacos de asada was delicious. The rice and beans were great.

One thing that would have been good would be if they had menus to go. Not sure if this location will be doing the same as the Elgin location and sell carnitas or other meats by the pound, but it'd be nice to know as there were no indication of it. My family and I will be coming back. It's a great restaurant, with friendly staff and decent pricing. Everything was delicious and makes you want more.

I'd say give it a try if you're thinking about it. If you love Mexican food, you won't be disappointed.

An authentic Mexican fine dining experience in a “fast food” style restaurant. Food is extremely good and well priced.

Beans and rice are good. Barbacoa is incredible. Love the variety of salsas and love that they give limes (in addition to fresh cilantro and onions) to add fresh flavor to your amazing dinner.

If you dine in and sit down (in restaurant) you get a small free chips and salsa if you dine in. The five different salsa’s are incredible. Mild red salsa is extremely flavorful, great as a salsa with chips and also to top your tacos. The green salsa has a nice spicy kick to it, but very delicious as well.
