This neighborhood restaurant is BYOB. Restaurant is cozy with traditional artifacts hanging off the wall. The decor is elegant and classy. The food portions are shareable. The service can be slow due to their phone orders.
Their fortune cookies are hard as a rock... but it doesn't matter because the entrees are awesome!! We were looking for another good Chinese restaurant in our area (Lin's is the only other decent one) and we finally found it! A little more expensive but worth it.
The crab rangoon is freshly made and completely stuffed!
Not too bad! I got take out from here a few days ago and I'm sure I will be back again.
Our meal was fantastic! I am gluten free and loved that they offered many delicious gluten free options. Delivery to the Baker Hotel was a plus. Will definitely eat here again.
If you are looking for good Chinese food in St. Charles this place is worth checking out. We dined in on a Saturday evening at 6:30. There was no wait but the place filled up by 8:00 when we left. The initial impression is this place is clean! Some Chinese restaurants have a greasy feel to them but this one seems well maintained from the glasses, tables, and restrooms to the wall decorations. The appetizers we ordered were crab Rangoon and egg rolls. Both were very good and not greasy. This restaurant has a homemade Strawberry based sweet and sour sauce that originally gave me pause because I've always had an Apricot based sweet and sour sauce but this one works. The sweetness actually balances the acidity of the food very well and eventually becomes addictive. They claim no high fructose corn syrup is in their food and I assume this includes the sauce. The chicken fried rice was really good. Everything had a fresh taste. The star of the evening was the walnut shrimp which I cannot say enough about. It is something only dreams are made of. Overall we enjoyed the food and it didn't make us feel sick afterwards like some Chinese restaurants do. My ten year old daughter even commented she felt like she had had something healthy. Take that for what it's worth. The service was polite but very slow. They seem to focus more on carry-out customers. A few times we had to track down the waiter for a water refill and the main course food took about 45 minutes to hit the table but overall a great experience and we will definitely be back. We finally found a quality Chinese restaurant in this hidden gem just allow a lot of time if you are not carrying out.
