Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill

Normally, I really enjoy this place. And, I have been here numerous times. However, this time was a disappointment.

The service was perfunctory. That does not mean bad, just serviceable. No engagement what so ever. I have.normally had excellent service, so maybe they have a new GM?

On the food side, unless you are a steak eater....and I know it seems odd to go here if you are not - the menu lacks imagination. There are two chicken options, a sandwich or Pablo crusted chicken breasts so drowned in white cheese sauce I think the chicken likely died twice from the cholesterol induced heart attack.

I will likely still go back to support my other friends dietary demands, but even their reliable martinis seemed 'meh.' Like my visit...

We always have a wonderful dinner at Stoney. We deviated from our normal Whiskey Shrimp appetizer choosing to try the crab cakes. It didn't disappoint. And the Legendary Steak is enough for us to share.

Had Sunday dinner here, first time. Excellent staff, our waiter was personable and attentive, but not overbearing. Checked in at expected intervals. Food prep & results were delicious. Dessert menu makes you not want to finish main course completely(but I did). Roomy seating arrangements and good intimate lighting. Highly recommend!

Or waitress, Josie, was fantastic, the booth we were given was wonderful (we requested a quiet table); however, the rib eye steak we were served was tough and very rare even after sending back to cook a bit more (we requested med rare)... Otherwise we would have given a five star.. disappointing for a high-end steakhouse????

We've been going to this restaurant for at least 4 years now and it seems better every time! I love the trout ,whiskey shrimp and their burgundy button mushrooms ,lobster bisque is amazing, steaks cooked to perfection and their wedge salad is so good that they should hold a class on how to make it,so many places get this seemingly simple dish so wrong!
Watch out for desserts,portions are so generous that unless you have a village with you,you'll be bringing most of it home ,which isn't a bad thing-i enjoyed it many times as my midnight snack!
