Merienda Café

A little bit of wait time here folks. You have to order before you find seating. Good food, huge portions. Food is good and service is fine.

My wife and I have enjoyed the Merienda Cafe twice now and cannot wait to continue going back! The food is delicious and we are so happy to have an authentic Filipino restaurant in our neighborhood. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming and you can tell they all care a lot about the restaurant! We’ve had the CBsilog, pancit bihon, and lumpiang Shanghai. All dishes were so good, had really nice presentation, and each was a substantial portion for the price! We’ve also had the ube bubble tea with mochi stripe (recommendation from the staff) and it was delicious!!! Such a great addition to Grayslake, can’t wait to go again!!

Our family of 4 ate dinner here last and we will definitely be going back. The inside of the restaurant has a cute vibe. The service is great; everyone is so friendly and helpful with the menu. We ordered a couple appetizers and 3 entrees to share. We enjoyed everything but the ribs were AMAZING!!!! Definitely go with the garlic fried rice. The salad went well with all the dishes. I liked that they used real plates, glasses, and utensils. The carry out containers are compostable which we like as well. They have gender neutral bathrooms which is always a plus. Highly recommend.

Staff was super friendly and the food portions were large. Definitely will be recommending this place to others!

Our family was one of the few lucky ones who made it into this soft open. All I can say.. "the flavor is there!". Would love to come back once they officially open
