(July 10, 2019, 2:01 am)I'm new to this area of the country having started a job 3 weeks ago in a neighboring town and decided to try one of the local establishments. Sam's has a friendly storefront and it caught my eye. Inside was clean with a nostalgic decor. I sat at the bar with a couple of patrons and ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich, fries and a drink. The sandwich and fries were tasty and the bartender was very entertaining as was the patrons. They made me feel welcome join the conversation. As first impressions go, this was about as good as it gets. While I didn't have time to try their pizza, one of the other patrons was eating a thin crust pizza and it looked REALLY GOOD!!! Sam's Pizza & Pub earned 2 thumbs up from me and I will be back to try some of that pizza! If you find yourself in Highland IL and have a hankering for some pizza goodness, give this place a try. I cant imagine anyone not enjoying this place. Cheers!
