    Stopped in for a beverage, thought I saw a ghostly apparition looking at me from an odd angle. Bartender told me it was the Ghost horse that frequents the establishment. Turns out Sam's is named after a horse that came the bar almost every day from 1906- till his death in 1914.

    Pros: Sweet ghost horse!

    Cons: Some might be scared of the ghost horse.

    Nice little town bar located in downtown Marengo Illinois, very small but definitely friendly staff. This particular place has been handed down to the family for quite some time. Very clean and organized place very historic as well

    Great local hang out... If you're a local :P That being said, a lot of friendly people can be found here.

    I've been coming here for a couple years now. Prices are on the cheaper side and all the bartenders are great. Love this place!
