We stopped in and picked up 2 6”subs to go, a package of their saurkraut rolls and a piece of carrot cake! Prices were reasonable, food was phenomenal and shop was cute! The menu is on the wall, if this is challenging for you to read they have printed to go menus by the register! 😉There were a few high top tables witch chairs if you wanted to dine in. There were several coolers with homemade pierogies, miscellaneous fried rolls, pastas, sausages! Lots to look at! It was hard to choose what to try! They had some baked goods, a few shelves of jarred sauces, pickled items, dried pastas, etc. fun to check out while waiting for our sandwiches. They were super busy, but there were a few people ahead of us. If you are in a hurry you may want to call in your order ahead of time as each sub is made by hand and it does take a bit. There is no bathroom that we could see, so keep that in mind if dining in.
We tried the all American, it was loaded with Turkey, ham, American cheese and Swiss cheese. It had tomatoes, lettuce and onions on fresh bread that was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I had Mayo instead of the mustard sauce, it was delicious! It did have some sort of oil or Italian dressing on the veggies, but very good. We also tried the Buffalo chicken, which was deli styled chicken seasoned with Buffalo seasoning, cheddar cheese and lettuce. We did not get it with Mayo and they did not put any other veggies on it besides lettuce, but it was still delicious, had a bit of a kick to it! The Saurkraut rolls we heated in the surveyed and dipped it 1000 island, phenomenal!!! The carrot cake was also delicious, the frosting was creamy and yummy!
We are excited to try other sandwiches from there soon!
We are loyal followers that have followed them from their last location in Fox Lake. We regularly get sandwiches and goodies before we go out on the lake, the sandwiches are awesome with fresh ingredients and a ton of meat on great bread. The salads and desserts never fail to impress and a small walk through the store usually ends up in an armful of extras for later. I Support local places and gladly return to them time after time. Wishing Adam the best of luck in this new location.
Tried the new Adam's Sandwich Shop in McHenry to celebrate Nate's birthday. Small place with only three little tables and quite busy. Decided to order and take our food home. Nice menu and lots of interesting items on shelves and coolers. Chose some spinach and feta perogies to cook up tomorrow. We ordered a couple different beef subs, turkey and a chicken salad to slice up for multiple meals. Bread was of good quality but very dry and crusty where we both prefer a softer type and we both agreed that there could have been more sauce to moisten it up and add more flavor. The meats were good, loved the gigantic pickle we sliced at home and the chocolate mousse mouse and cannoli were delicious. Prices seemed fair. With a bit of a drive and so many places to order a sandwich around here, I'm not racing back, but I would stop by again if passing through.
We used to have sandwiches at their old shop! We checked out the new shop and fell in love. You can now substitute for gluten free bread. As someone who's moderately intolerant, this was great to see! There's also gluten free perogies! I had the tuna on gluten free white bread and my partner had a ham and cheese sandwich. We both enjoyed it!
Cool place! Just don’t get the black ham and macaroni sandwich. Honestly very disappointed. It’s literally macaroni salad that’s cold in this cold sandwich. First of all there’ shouldn’t be carrots and celery chunks in my macaroni. There’s little shreds of cheese. It’s a dry sandwich with just that on it. It should be warm, have sauce and should be a traditional macaroni and cheese on it. The size and portion of it is great! The people were super nice! It’s very nice and clean inside. They have cool dishes you can buy like peroxide and homemade soup.
