Service was very good. We waited for a table for only a short time. I gave my phone number & received a text message when it was available. After eating we went downstairs into the tent that was heated for music & watched the very brave people go into the freezing water. It was for a very good cause! We had a lot of fun.
Food was delicious, but everyone agreed the soda tastes off. Most of the group switched to raspberry iced tea instead. I had the shrimp flat bread and it was even better than expected and everyone else had burgers and liked them as well.
They've been putting some serious thought and money into updating their establishment. The added 'skydeck' and seasonal Arctic bar are nice features to embrace - especially during the winter months. During the summer it's a great place to eat and relax on the deck overlooking the water.
The food is fairly decent, but it's bar food - they don't get too fancy, but they do have a few items that should grab your attention. The staff is; for the most part; friendly and attentive.
This was our first time going to Broken Oar. My wife had a bacon cheeseburger w/waffle fries, she loved her burger. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese, but was disappointed, the serving size was a bit small but the biggest disappointment was the amount of lobster. I had only 6 bites that contained lobster, and they were so small I couldn't actually see the lobster. The dish had a $16 price, with no other sides with the meal...this is definitely a money maker for the bar with the VERY small amount of lobster they put in the dish (Mac & Cheese is super cheap). We liked the atmosphere of the place. We came in because we saw an ad saying they had ice carvings on display, which was cancelled due to the warm weather, no big deal.
We will go back, but I doubt I would order the Lobster Mac & Cheese again due to the issues listed above.
