The Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern

Within walking distance of the Spirit of Peoria boat. A must see. An old train station converted into a restaurant. Bathrooms convenient and are right inside the entrance way. Nice atmosphere with attentive staff. I had a hamburger with baked beans. The baked beans had pieces of pulled pork which was delicious. Small menu of BBQ pork, chicken and hamburger options. They have a decent selection of different beers to choose from.

I can remember meeting the Rock Island Rocket train at this station, years ago. I like the way they made the dining area separate from the bar. I ordered the Lorraine Burger with the Aioli on the side which include a side. Chose the Warm Bacon Potato Salad. Just great. I understand the Brisket was equally as good. As a plus, found the staff very refreshing. They actually give you the impression that they enjoy your company and waiting on you. Good place to go after visiting the museum.

Absolutely LOVE this restaurant! So well priced, especially with the portion size and how delicious the food is. A large draft selection. THE BEST FRIED PICKLES EVER! If you have not tried this restaurant and are reading this to decide if you want to try or not. Absolutely go! You will not ever regret spending your time or money at this establishment.

Great atmosphere right off the river, centrally located downtown Peoria. Amazing food, delicious fried pickles, bacon potato salad, homemade macaroni and cheese and BBQ. Service was slow and restaurant was not very busy. Our party would have spent much more money had we not had to flag down our server multiple times to get beverages or to place our initial order.

A friend and I were in Peoria and decided to try out this local restaurant. We loved the name and wanted to give it a try. We went for lunch, and we had a great experience. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service! I ordered the brisket, and my friend ordered the St Louis cut ribs with a side of baked beans and warm bacon potato salad. The portions were great; especially the ribs. We shared the baked beans and potato salad, and still couldn't eat everything. The meat was some of the best we've ever had, the baked beans were delicious, and the warm potato salad was to die for. Maybe they smoked the potatoes, too? I'm not sure, but it was great! We will definitely visit here again if we are in the area.
