Childers Eatery - Camp (East Peoria)

I love Childers! They have a lot of unique dishes and juices. We visited the East Peoria location on a Sunday. There was a 15 minute wait but it wasn't an issue. Our server was energetic and informed. They were out of pineapple juice so it limited our options but the green juice was good, heavy on the apple juice. The chilaquiles were solid!

JD was our server, he was fantastic!! The guys was absolutely delicious, we had the skillet, chicken and waffles, and shared the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy 1/2 order could've been a meal by itself! They were packed, but everything came out in a timely manner. My only complaint has to do with the hostess, she was rolling silverware at the front desk, never washed hands after touching menus, and seating people. Also, she was pulling the silverware from it's rack by the blades of knives, fork tines, and the spoon, absolutely gross, those go in our mouths. The dishwasher needs to put silverware time/blade/spoon side down, so all anyone rolling the silverware touches is the handle . This would be a mark if the health department saw this .

Had breakfast with my family this morning. 6 adults and my 9month old. Food was very good, and the atmosphere was nice, but the star of the show was Jessi our server. She was very attentive and just absolutely awesome. Everything came out as ordered, and her awesome service was quick and friendly! Will definitely be back! Do yourself a favor and go have breakfast and ask for Jessi!

This place was absolutely fantastic. The food was fresh, hot, delicious, and came out exceptionally fast for the size of our party and how busy they were. Our server was fantastic. The price was good for what we got. My only complaint is no grape jelly. When I asked, the server apologized and said alot of people ask for it...so, Childers, Grade Jelly, Please!!!! I'm sorry, but I don't want blackberry, or some odd flavored jelly. I just wish you had the option.
The new space was beautiful and the atmosphere was awesome!!!

We enjoy frequenting the Junction City location on the weekends so when this East Peoria location opened, we were glad to hear it. Nicely done interior, but could use more accent colors or plants, since so much of the room is brown. CXF coffee they offer is a step above the regular stuff, but beware that refills are not free. Disappointing that they seem to have discontinued the loyalty program. Breakfast overall was good. Will be back again.
