Good place for tasty american food. The service was helpful and kind. This place has a great atmosphere. Reminds me of a cafe in Chicago I liked to visit.
Great food. Everything was fresh and tasted good. Service was a little slow. (Took over 30 minutes before our order was taken.) The place was crowded so that may have been why. The waiter was very attentive.
Probably what I like most about this place was the location. Its on the outskirts of Rockford on a driving range. You can walk right out the back entry and hit golf balls. It has a quiet and chill atmosphere. The service was solid so no complaints there. We sat outside and the weather was beautiful. The food was good, but not necessarily great. The prices are a little high for me, but not too bad.
I came to Garrett's for lunch on January 15, 2019. I ordered the Squash and Baked Brie Salad. The meal came very quickly and the waiter was pleasant and cheerful. The salad though left a lot to be desired. The taste was great. But the spinach leaves were whole, meaning they left the stems on all the leaves which amounted to about a 3-4" stem on each leaf. This is pretty hard to eat with the stems being quite stiff and I would have to actually chop my salad to possibly get all the stems. I did not notice any baked brie nor did I see any. The salad itself was large but they could do better by adding the brie and at least chopping the spinach or buy leaf spinach without the stems.
