“We were uncertain what expect and were pleasantly surprised. Located in a strip mall in a new building there is plenty of parking near the door. The place is inviting with big booths, plenty of tables for groups of all sizes and hand painted murals on the walls. We were instantly seated. Our server was very friendly and prompt. We started with onion rings. Exceptional. Old school homemade thick rings. We ordered the house ribs and chicken. The warm bread loaf with butter was excellent. The sides were good but need some tweaking. Side salads great. Fries are great. Beans, mashed potatoes and veggies under performed. They need to offer corn bread as a side. This place begs for yummy corn bread. For this reason I wanted to give Backyard Grill a four star rating but the group said five stars, and they are a tough group to please. The ribs are perfectly cooked and fall off the bone. The quantity is very large. You get value for your dollar here. We left with two to go boxes full of ribs and fries. The house rib sauce for me had a strong pepper flavor and a sour vinegar taste. I wish the ribs were served plain and sauce on the side. They only offer one sauce. The group loved the sauce. Again I was out voted. The ribs are five star. The bathrooms are new. The service was excellent to the very end. They have daily specials and all you can eat rib specials on certain days. The entire experience was top notch. We strongly recommend.”

“Had a great big salad that was a real bell ringer for us. Had the Georgia peach salad with cucumber dressing. Dressing very much like a gyro sandwich dressing but it was just as tasty on our salads. I got the Rueben soup and that was a winner too. Our waitress was perfect. Just right friendly and attentive. She came back several times to see if we wanted anything else and she remembered the couple of extras we asked for quickly. Bought a dessert to take home and it didn't disappoint. The cake was moist and the frosting was rich and creamy good. The location is good. The place is clean inside and outside. It's a favorite of mine when I travel to that area.”

“Been here for lunch a couple times. Had tacos the first time and a burrito this last time. The tacos were really good and the burrito good too but could have been more flavorful. I did have the chicken burrito so perhaps a steak burrito would have had more distinct flavor. The service was excellent with friendly people working there. Overall a nice place with good food.”

“The beer menu here is fantastic. There is a beer for pretty much every type of beer drinker. Of course you have all your standards, but then there are some beers that you have never heard of. They even let you taste them before ordering, just in case. The appetizers are amazing, and the full menu is better than any other bar in the area. This is a place you can go to and never be dissatisfied.”

“I had the lasagna and pizza bread. Both items were really good. The portion sizes were quite nice and the prices were good. I would definitely order from here again. The only reason for a four star rating and not five stars is that there is not a place to sit and eat at the restaurant. This is only an order out place.”

“The service was great. Waitress was friendly and easy to interact with. The prices on food are a little high for being a "Bar & Grill". I mean if you're looking to spend $12-15 dollars on a burger it better be good. I mean that is more expensive than a place like Five Guys and their burgers are much better in my opinion. Plus you dont have to pay almost 15 dollars for a burger. The food was alright, but if you're paying that much it better be great.”

“I love coming here when it's really late at night (basically any time after midnight) because with them being attached to a truck stop, they are almost always fully prepared for customers. It's not like some locations where they don't get any business late at night so they slack a bit. My food always comes out properly cooked, fairly quickly, and the staff never really seem to bad spirits.”

“I work in a group home with developmentally disabled guys. I have to help them order and then help them get seated. We had a generous benefactor today. As I got my guys seated and started on their meals, the woman that works behind the counter came up and handed me a gift card saying a man had bought it for us. I was speechless. I've never had anyone do this for me and my guys. He left before I could thank him. We will be returning next week so my guys can use their gift card. Many thanks to this kind generous man.”
