Very good restaurant. Nice atmosphere and great staff. Reasonably priced.
We weren't especially pleased with the mushrooms, but the entrees were killer!
The salad bar was amazing.
Wife had crab legs. I had scallops.
We've added The Fish House to our favorites.
Great food at a reasonable price! Professional service from everyone we met! Great shrimp cocktail! Highly recommend the blackened scallops and blackened salmon! Try the key lime pie also! The coffee at 8:30 pm was as fresh as if it were 8:30 in the morning! We will be back!!
UPDATE: Second trip: the shrimp cocktail was tough and mealy, and there were almost no customers at nearly 7 pm. Restaurant next door was packed. What happened?! Second experience there was totally different from the first!
Nice to be renovated interior space. Very attractive bar area with great lighting makes everything feel closely intimate a very nice fresh salad bar and actually a fresh fish and seafood market area. There are some very interesting choices on the menu items for lunch. The crab cakes are exceptionally good, the salads or fresh very tasty, and the clam chowder is excellent. I have not been there for dinner but I understand from the wait staff that they have an expanded menu in the evenings and at least a couple of special features as well as drink specials on certain nights of the week. I have to say it's a better choice then Bar 145 the previous restaurant in this location. It's worth checking out and experiencing the atmosphere the food and the service
The food is good but it was a mixed experience. I loved the fried shrimp dinner but did not like any of the sides, such as the mac and cheese or rice. It was too bland and basic. The salad bar was a bonus. The fried walleye was good as well but the lunch portions are fairly small. The place is clean. The service was about a 15 minute wait. Would go again but I am more open to experimenting with other spots downtown.
I’ve been to the fish house twice now both experiences completely different from the other. The first time I was there for appetizer we got the casino oysters which were amazing! Then for dinner I got the seafood pasta with broccoli soup. (Should have gotten the salad bar instead) The pasta just needed a little more sauce which was brought to my table upon request and it had a little spice to it which I liked as well. The cocktails were tasty and sweet like i like. Our server was very attentive and welcoming the entire time. Overall I had a great experience and then I went a second time and ordered this exact same meal and it wasn’t good at all. Not sure if you have a new chef but everything we ordered was bad minus the oysters. The shrimp scampi noodles were crunchy and dry. The sauce for the seafood pasta was bland and had no flavor. I most likely won’t be back.
