Cracker Barrel has good food and usually plenty of it. They serve you biscuits and cornbread, but I believe you have to ask for them now. There is a variety of food on the menu, and the prices aren't bad if you watch what you order, kids menu available, big checkers game to play while waiting, then little wooden games on the tables. Before going into restaurant there is a little country store to shop in. I overeat every time I go.
The food is always great however there seems to be an issue going on with wait times. Not sure if it's a staffing issue but while you do get seated quickly, it takes a very long time to get your food. Last time we were there, it took over a half hour to get our food after ordering and our drinks where only filled once even though the cups were clearly empty.
I toyed with giving this place a 2-star but our waitress rescued it to keep it at three. That's still below the four stars I would normally give the Cracker Barrel chain. She was pleasant and did a good job. However, someone dropped the ball because they did not cover her when she went on break. I say this because our order took about 30 - 40 minutes to get to us and we did not see her at all during this time. When she attended to us, she was good but I chalk this up to a problem with disorganization. Our food, once we were seved, was as good as per the norm at any Cracker Barrel and the low key atmosphere was relaxed as always. The prices were decent for what we ordered. And the location could not have been more convenient. They just need to get their act together as far as team work is concerned.
Have enjoyed eating at these places. Each visit has been a pleasurable one. My steak this evening was over cooked when delivered, the waitress with no hesitation took it back to the kitchen and within minutes I had my meal in front of me, cooked to perfection. Great place, great atmosphere, great service all around. I loved the board game so much that I bought one tonight.
I really wanted pancakes and this is the place to get them!! They bring them out with a heaping scoop of real butter and cute little bottles of real maple syrup that’s warm to the touch!! Even when you order off the lunch/dinner menu it’s so many options of good made from scratch southern cooking sides and entree’s, and you get a lot no matter what menu you order off of. I also love the country store! They’re not expensive at all, they have sell items each time I go and just the cutest gifts to give or something for yourself to items for your home!! I enjoy the customer service as well the staff makes you feel at home! If I could give 10 stars I would! This is one restaurant I love to dine at! I enjoy country settings and southern style food!!
