Down home cooking. Service a little slow, but a good choice for lunch. Buffett available or order off menu. Free parking. EZ access off the busy highway at traffic lights.
Visit here frequently. Excellent food. Small buffet for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Usualky really great service, but when it isn't, the managers take it very seriously. In addition, others take the time to fill in the gap and make sure that you have a great dining experience. Prices are less than Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans resturants, but serve similar foods.
Cold. Thinking they had their air conditioning on. Not summer yet. Food was very good and service too.
My family and I went on Wednesday 5 pm, had buffet, not as good as usual. They were not very busy. Once our drinks were brought ,waitress did not check on us. Had to ask for silverware as there were 5 of us and 2 placesettings. I bought 5 muffins. Was not told if you buy 5 you get 1 free. A customer showed me the tiny , TINY.sign on bottom of pie case. Muffins are at top of case. Had to wait at least 15 minutes for Bill. Hope next experience is better.
We live in Indy, but I went to Greenfield to meet with a client, husband came along and we thought we’d try something local. It was around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and the place looked pretty deserted, but we decided to give it a go.
When we went in, there was only three other people sitting at a table together, rest of place was empty.
Waitress smiled at us as we walked in, but didn’t say anything. Then my husband noticed a sign that said “Please Be Seated” so we found a booth.
When waitress came over to get our drink orders I asked her what Jim Dandy’s is famous for. She said the Jim Dandy (which looks like a Big Mac) or their breaded tenderloin sandwich. As a Hoosier, I’m a big fan of a good tenderloin, so I went with that and the salad bar as my side.
Salad bar looked great. Not really large, but all the veggies looked fresh. I didn’t try the soup or other options up there, but my salad was good.
Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about my breaded tenderloin. The first bite I took almost made me spit it back out. I had my husband try a bite and he said something tasted off too. The only thing we can figure is that the oil used was old and left a weird taste. I covered and I mean COVERED my tenderloin with mustard and took a few more bites, but I wasn’t able to finish the sandwich. Very disappointing.
On the plus side, my husband ordered the Jim Dandy and he said it was delicious. He hasn’t had a Big Mac in years, but he said it was very similar and he was happy with it.
