Veleros Mexican Cuisine

Walked in for an appetizer with my husband. We were given 2 taquitos to start off on the house and we ordered Calamari & the Trio Sampler of Guac, cheese dip & salsa w/chips. Everything was so delicious! The calamari was nice and crispy served w/a sweet sauce that had a nice kick to it. Service was great & we will definitely come back.

We will surely return to enjoy meals here again! Yet, we will request to sit upstairs. Who knew they had a basement…my husband said it was more intimate. I did not like the dull decor and lack of creativity. They do have TVs on the wall if you want to catch a game while dining. If they design the basement like they did upstairs, then I’d give atmosphere 5 stars.

Service was excellent. The hostess, manager and server were so polite and helpful with meal suggestions. Thanks Julio. Food was flavorful and filling. We ordered fried quesadillas, mole enchiladas, and a shrimp and steak dinner. The drinks were good: peach mojito and classic rum & come. I can’t wait to go back.

We've now been to Veleros in Crown Point twice, both for special occasions. Everyone, at both visits, was extremely happy with their food. Complimentary potato and black bean taquitos are presented shortly after sitting down and are delicious. The service both nights was top notch. My husband appreciates having a drink just before his is completely gone, and both servers were very good at accommodating this without being asked.

The food is not your typical Mexican fare, and for that reason I don't mind the slightly higher prices. The quality makes it worth it, as do the atmosphere and exemplary service. Happy to have Veleros as a new favorite in Crown Point!

In place of True BBQ the Hub has yet another excellent Mexican fare addition.

The service is terrific. Per usual, chips come first. The Guac is really cool and the queso is yummy. We had the tacos. Very tasty.

It is on the higher end, but if their entrees are anything like the tacos, you should be pleased.
