“In my Keith Lee voice, I tried it and rated everything a 10! From the soulful 90s r&b playing upon entry, to the warm and friendly service received from the owner and the cashier, to that TRUE soul food that you receive.. this place is nothing short of amazing. I gave it a try as I didn’t feel like cooking dinner, and I’m so glad I did. The owner is also the chef, and she greeted me at the counter to run down the menu. She makes you feel at home like family and is patient as I expressed it was my first visit to the restaurant. I ordered the catfish dinner which came with 2 sides (I picked spaghetti and collard greens), jerk chicken eggrolls (can be ordered separate or as a meal), and a piece of lemon pound cake. Breaking my diet was worth it! The catfish was my favorite (I took a pic of how flaky and perfect it was.. crispy like I like it too!) but everything had a burst of flavor!! Every forkful! The wait was about 15-20 minutes, but it was well worth it because everything was fresh and steaming when I got home! As I was ordering she told me the Mac was still in the oven so I didn’t get a chance to order it. As I was leaving with my order, she told me to wait because it had just come out, and handed me a sample to try. Let me just say, I tasted it on my way out the door and ran back inside (not exaggerating) to tell her just how good that macaroni and cheese was and how grateful I was for that sample! She truly didn’t have to do that or allow me to taste the peach cobbler but I’m so glad she did! As an operations manager, I can recognize and appreciate true hospitable service! I told her I would be back and I meant that. Please give this place a try because I promise you won’t regret it and we need this business to thrive. You can tell this is her passion as you can feel it in her rapport with her customers and taste it in every bit of that food! Hopefully I can stick to my original turkey burger idea next time 😂😂😂. (Probably not, I’m coming back for that mac!🤣❤️)”

“The old Miller Beach Cafe has been Rebranded as “Nostalgia Steak and Seafood” and it is amazing. I have been going here once a week and everything right down from the food, to the atmosphere and customer service has been exceptional. My favorites are the chocolate martinis, mojitos, salmon dinner and crab cake pasta. They have monthly brunches with a DJ, and after work mixers on Fridays. Even if you’re by yourself you feel comfortable at ease and the Chef comes out and mingles with customers regularly. I’m so glad Chef Jerek Blevins brought his expertise and passion to our community and look forward to coming back here often.”

“This is the first time hearing about this spot. I am SERIOUSLY impressed with the quality of ingredients. The staff is incredibly friendly and the area inside is practically spotless. The food is very reasonably priced. If I lived closer, I'd seriously consider going multiple times a week. They have a variety of sauces to choose from and several protein choices. They also have incredible passionfruit lemonade! Looking forward to coming back and trying something new!”

“I decided to try a new coffeeshop today. The place is close to my apartment and off 45th Street in Munster. It's located on the main floor of the new apartment complex. The lady at the cash register was very nice. I had the Begare, which is a cold brew with banana syrup and peanut butter foam. It's so good! The peanut butter foam is light and nutty. The drink is very smooth! I'll definitely be back to try their other drinks and gelato.”

“Covo Mediterranean is new to the area and I’m thrilled to have something like this here now. The food was hot and fresh and very tasty. We spent about $65 and trust me you get your money’s worth. The lamb and beef pita was amazing, so was the skepasti. The chicken breast dinner and wrap were also very good. The service was amazing on top of everything. I give this place a 10/10 highly recommended.”
