Smee's Place Bar & Grill

This is a nice little bar & grill, over near Nora. Light wood paneling on the walls and lower lighting make for a quiet ambiance.

We've recently moved to Indy and stumbled on this place while looking for another. My wife and I really appreciate the food and warm atmosphere, and at very reasonable prices. The food came out quickly and hot A full bar, but not noisy. We'll be back.

Arrived around 5:15 on Saturday with another couple to sample their Devour Indy Specials. We were greeted and seated promptly; the staff were quick and friendly, and the food very good for the price (soup, salad, surf & turf entree and dessert for two was only $34.99!). It’s family friendly, non-smoking, and the decor and music made us smile (Oldies music and decor). The ONLY negative (which was minor) was the mashed potatoes being plated too early and arriving only luke-warm. Definitely a place well visit again.

Traditional American cuisine. This was my second visit, both times I had a burger which was delicious. Cooked to a perfect medium. I will say, my wife was not as pleased with her salmon so I'm not sure what she would rate it. I tasted it, and it was just a bit bland. Also, we prefer our salmon a bit more pink in the center so I think it was cooked too much for my wife. Loaded cheese fries were excellent. Piping hot, and not super-saturated with oil like you tend to find at other bar and grills. All in all, I'd say it's definitely worth checking out if you haven't. The hostess was very accommodating as well without being intrusive. I'll surely be back.
