The Irish Lion Restaurant & Pub

I really really loved my food-- I got the corned beef and cabbage (classic). I also loved what I sampled of my friends' food and drink. If you come here, you should really try to Irish coffee. It was beautiful and absolutely hit the spot on a chilly October night.

I decided to eat lunch at The Irish Lion Restaurant because of the positive reviews. I got there about 12:15 PM on a Saturday. I enjoyed reading about the history of the building, pretty neat story. The menu has a lot of choices. I decided on the Irish Banger & Colcannon. It was very tasty! Since I was alone, I sat at the bar and the place was not all that busy while I was there. The only negative I have is it was difficult to get anyone to check on me to see if I wanted or needed anything. If you are on the fence, I would recommend you give it a try.

The Irish Lion is a fantastic pub. The food is good, and the atmosphere is terrific. Prices are excellent. If you are visiting without kids, opt for the downstairs. The upstairs is good but the service is slow and the ambiance is not quite as good.

Absolutely my most favorite place to eat in all of Indiana. The food is the closest I've had to authentic pub food in Ireland. The Guinness is always on point and they offer droughts by the pint, pitcher, 1/2 yard, and full yard (which are a fun game to drink in themselves). They offer unique seating options in the main bar area, as well as upstairs and patio options. I've opted to drive an hour and a half (each way) just to go to this place for dinner on several occasions. A "must go" if you're in Bloomington.

I've loved this place since I was in college. The food is great and the atmosphere is really comfortable and friendly. I always feel like I'm at a gathering of friends and family when I'm here. There's lots of good Irish/British food on the menu, including some more adventurous options like escargot. They also serve pretty good oysters for a pub in the Midwest.

They have separate parts of the restaurant for families and the 21 and over lot, so if you're looking to avoid the potentially roudier lot you can definitely do that.

Their drink menu is extensive and good. I'm not big on beer so I can't speak to that selection, but their collection of scotch and whiskey is nothing to sneeze at. They also do flights if you're not sure what sounds best. All in all, the Irish Lion is a place for great experiences, and I always make sure to visit at least once whenever I'm in town.
