Always a fabulous meal! Server was excellent and patient with three of our five guests that had not been there before. Safety measures were in place and we definitely felt safe. Love the outdoor tables in the street over the weekend. The food here never disappoints. Menu is full of all our favorites and there's usually a couple new items to tempt us.
Wonderful food, service, and safety protocols. This was my first dine-in experience since early March. I was grateful it was at Uptown!
Great, semi-upscale dinner spot on campus. I had the Spaghetti Alfredo with Chicken and was not disappointed! One of the better dishes I’ve had in my restaurant days. Great service, too.
I went to the Uptown Cafe on a Friday afternoon about 1pm. Some of the lunch crowd had started to thin out. We were seated immediately. For starters we had the artichoke and olive dip. Very good. From the lunch menu I chose the salmon wrap. Salmon with lettuce and tomato wrapped in a grilled tortilla. That sentence does not give it credit. It was phenomenal. For dessert I had the blackberry cobbler. My friend and I definitely put this on our group of restaurants we visit in downtown Bloomington. If I were to sum up the visit it would be upscale and fancy.
I just had the perfect meal! I say this almost every time I eat at Michael's Uptown Cafe. In this case it was the New Yorker burger (mayo on the side) and Cuban Black Bean Soup. Sour cream goes good with this soup. The best thing you will ever eat. Magnificent! Prices are actually low for this level of gourmet food. Pot Roast is also excellent, and so are the breakfasts. Best place in town. Classy but no dress code. Come as you are. Thank you Michael for putting some really good things in a troubled world. PS: I agree with J. Moore on the bar quality. If you doubt the expertise here, order an Irish coffee with whipped cream. Most places don't get those right, but Michael's does.
