The burnt ends weren't real burnt ends. The flavor was ok, but slightly dry. Maybe that is why they put some sauce on top. The steak was overcooked. It had decent flavor and was season well. It seemed like a lower quality cut, maybe that is why it was overcooked. The "smashed potatoes" were mashed. So I was disappointed by that. The green beans were pretty good. The owner I talked to was very nice. I'm not sure I would go back to eat here again.
Good BBQ with fixings. Pork, beef, some others. Table service, friendly servers. Wife and I enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches... good meat, self-applied sauce- nice meal. Nice place.
The restaurant is clean and inviting. The service is good. The concept is perfect. But the food misses the mark.
I tried burnt ends, ribs, cabbage soup, chicken, pulled pork, and salmon. The BBQ lacks the appropriate qualities of slow cooked meat. I'm not sure how they're preparing the BBQ, but it's not with a smoker.
The burnt ends were the appropriate consistency and flavor; those and the soup were the best things I tried. But this is a BBQ joint, and no smoke rings or deeply imparted slow cooked meat flavors indicates a problem. The food is passable, the sauces are delicious, but it ain't BBQ.
First time at this restaurant. I thought the service was good, the food was okay. Nothing I can say that was over the top great. I had the pulled pork dinner and it was okay. The sauce could use some work. It tasted very much like it came out of a grocery store brand bottled bbq sauce. Very bland tasting sauce. I prefer a homemade sauce. I also prefer a more flavorful meat. No spices that I could taste in it at all. The hay bale appetizer was good. I’ve been several places in the area where they serve the same types of meats however they are smoked and much better flavor.
