Madison Oyster Bar

A pretty standard old-school bar, but watch out for the dress code! It’s intended to be an “anti-gang” dress code but is vague enough that it may unfairly target regular people who simply have a particular fashion sense. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is pleasant. The service, however, is extremely slow. There is also a $10 minimum on all credit card purchases. It’s a good place to go if you’re looking to sit and chat with friends for several hours.

Basic old school, long, narrow, lots of dark wood dive bar. Good drink prices during the day and pretty much the only place in town where you can actually get fresh oysters.

The food and the service was excellent. I have no complaints.

This restaurant has really improved since past visits. Their meats are among the best around, and their selection of dry-aged offerings can't be beat. The dry-aged burger may be my favorite. Food quality and presentation are first rate.

All that said, service remains an occasional issue. I don't see that their focus is consistently customer-focused. Servers can be inattentive and slow. This is far less frequent than it was when Corndance was a newer restaurant, but the management needs to concentrate on creating a different culture.
