COMFORT by the Cross-Eyed Cricket

Only been here for breakfast. Both times the food was very good. This time we made a reservation for Father's day. They were able to seat us upstairs upon arrival. The food again was very good but I was not impressed with our waitress. While I'm sure she is very nice outside of work, she was not very interactive and spoke too softly to even understand her. When we did speak with her she seemed very lost as to what to do and just awkward. She stated to one in my party she does not like waiting upstairs due to the kitchen being downstairs and it's a lot harder. She's apparently been there over a year. I honestly don't see how. The people skills lack significantly.

Our table all tried different foods. We started off with very nice salad and broccoli soup. Our food came very quickly, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, chicken livers, German fries, fried cabbage, meatloaf, fried okra, salmon, all absolutely delicious. Excellent server, several stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, including the owner. I highly recommend.

I absolutely love the food, atmosphere and people at Comfort. And can we talk about the decor? I can't even get down with country chic anything but I'm like, can you come do my whole house? I just love this precious business brings even more life and unique quality to our downtown.

The atmosphere is really nice and the people are great. But the best part is the food. Nice sized portions at a reasonable price. I'm from out of town and this was a great local spot to eat. I definitely recommend!
