AJ Steakhouse

Our steak was cooked perfectly. Temperature and texture are what I expected from a steak house. The bread, salad and sides were all fresh and delicious. This is exactly what Waukon needs! There are issues to iron out I'm sure as with any new restaurant but I hope you guys are here to stay!

Food was good but service could have been better. Our waitress was excellent but we received our salads the same time as our main course. Salads should come a bit before the main course.

To be brutally honest as usual, this is one of the best restaurants in the area. I hope the quality last after the initial wave of "new place to eat" vanishes. I had the tomahawk steak, perfectly cooked. The table got appetizers and boy are the appetizers amazing; I recommend the portobello fingers and the onion rings. The burgers are the best I have ever eaten in waukon.

Not what we were hoping for...
Our waitress for the night was professional and nice, but our food lacked in flavor and texture. Plus there isn't many options for younger children on the menu.

This is a nice little restaurant. It seems like the interior is still in progress, as it's brand new, so I would follow in its progression. The staff were friendly, but still new as well. The food is alright, but lacking the "Steakhouse" experience. It feels more like a local diner experience to me, with simple food presentations (see photo) and taste palettes. It's not what I expect from the word "Steakhouse", and not quite my style of restaurant.
