We hit the jackpot on this McGregor gem. Our server Sara was warm, friendly, prompt and attentive. She took the extra time to share some fun things in the town for us to do while on our trip. Her love and pride of this quaint town is apparent. Our crafted beer flight was a fun and interesting variety. The salad bar was fresh with homemade potatoe salad and fresh sweet pea salad and was definitely a refreshing start to our scrumptious meal. The prime rib was juicy, tender and cooked perfectly to temperature. The sweet potato wedges were a nice side option instead of the regular supper club options that are usually served. The bell pepper, beef stew and baked French onion soup had rich broth and good flavor. The restaurant itself has a trendy yet down to earth vibe with an adorable patio for seating.
Saturday night Prime Rib—Better be great or else! Too many area restaurants do it right..At Old Man River—It was OR Else! Medium Rare turned out to be Medium to Well. Brought the fact to both the Waitress( who said prior to serving she brought the fact to the kitchens attention and was told”it was fine”.) And the hostess neither of whom made any effort to replace, refund or even reduce our $85.00 (for 2!) bill.Great looking restaurant, great location, had great Pizza here in the past, but go somewhere else if your looking for Prime!
Home made bread with vidalia dip was amazing. The wings were terrific. Spinach and artichoke dip was to die for! Diana and Duane are very hospitable and accommodating. They had a huge group of motorcyclists come in and quickly moved tables to seat them all! Also we noticed how quickly they were eating their food. The apartments upstairs are beautiful, everything you could need and want. We will be back for a longer stay
4 of us just had dinner. Both women had salads - excellent. Both men had burgers - very pleased. Waitress was efficent and very pleasant. We will be back.
I went in on a Tuesday for a simple dinner. I started at the bar and was greeted by Jackie, the fun and welcoming bartender! She recommended the rubin and homemade chips which were both great! I ended up moving to the screened in deck out back. Every table had a live plant, many had herbs growing in the planters. Very pleasant experience from beginning to end!
