Great food in an unexpected setting. My wife and I tried the Lamb Shawarma and Chicken Gyro. It was the best. A simple presentation allows the flavors to shine through. You will not be disappointed. We will be back - often.
I had a lovely experience at this restaurant! It is owned by an amazing family. I ordered their lamb kebab meal which was delicious. I took home some of their hummus and I think it’s the best hummus in Iowa City! Their falafel are exceptional and authentic. I plan to come back for more healthy, delicious, and affordable meals.
I highly, highly recommend having lunch or dinner here! The food was absolutely delicious smelling and tasting. I ordered the lamb shawarma meal. Not only was the food delicious, but the man who owns the store is very kind and fun to talk to. He made my day when he remembered me from three days ago when I came in with my friend to try the pistachio baklava, which I of course had to get again this time. I have a sweet tooth, so this unique dessert was my favorite part! I’m bringing home several for my family to try.
I've put off doing a review for a few days- sorry. Our son works across the street from the new Cafe, and came to visit us, raving about the gyro sandwich he had just had. We ordered a couple of days later, and were very satisfied. We got falafel sandwiches, and they were great. I got to talk to the new owner for a while; very nice gentleman.
I returned last week for a gyro sandwich for my wife. Looked great, and she said it was delicious. I know we will be coming often, as will our son.
Staff were great, food was great, only minor issue is parking (always been an issue at this location), but you can park behind the building and walk a few steps. Excellent new addition to Iowa City restaurant scene.
