We visited up in smoke for the first time tonight. We were there about 430/5.
I got brisket nachos and my fiancé got a sampler.
Everything had great flavor.
The brisket and the cheese on the nachos were cold. The ribs were cold.
The sides were piping hot. They were good. The brisket on the sampler plate was also cold.
I thought it was a great atmosphere but I probably won’t be back. Except for the cornbread 🤷🏻♀️
Ordered the brisket, cheesy potatoes and cornbread. Meat was smokey and tender. Potatoes were the star of the sides for me. Cornbread is a mini loaf and very generous portion. Couldn't finish it all, but so good! Tip: Park in back and enter from back lot.
Went to Up In Smoke on a Saturday afternoon, not busy inside. I ordered brisket nachos ($10) and my girlfriend ordered a roasted chicken hindquarter ($7) and mac and cheese ($3). The nachos I've received were enormous and beautiful, with generous brisket, house made pickled jalapeños, house made sour cream, and house made chips. My meal was delicious, and would recommend to anyone. My girlfriend's chicken was smoked to perfection, with a semi-sweet skin, and the inside perfectly moist. The serving was generous for her also, and the mac and cheese paired well with it. We ordered cornbread ($3) on our way out, which proved to be as delicious the next day as it was fresh. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone, the prices are superb, the food excellent, and the service wonderful.
This is a new BBQ place in Czech Village. Nice location and sizable seating area. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. The meat was good but not great. The baked beans were good with pieces of green peppers. The cheesy potatoes were dry and not very cheesy. It needed butter, sour cream and onions too. It is new so I might try them again in six months and see.
We went on a Thursday afternoon around 430 pm. We ordered a full rack of ribs to split with cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, and cornbread. They have 3 sauces, chipotle, regular and Carolina mustard. All the sauces were good with the chipotle having a nice kick but not overly spicy. The mustard had a great flavor without being overly mustardy or vinegary. But the best thing is the meat is very tasty and flavorful without the sauces. The sauces add a nice flavor to the already good meat. It was smoky and tender, though the one downside was that they failed to remove at least some of the silver skin which made a few of the ribs a bit chewy. Overall, the meat was good and out of the places in town, it is the best flavor without sauces. The cheesy potatoes were decent though needed salt and pepper and more cheese, though that's personal preference. The coleslaw was really good. It was creamy and the flavor was exactly between not being sweet or vinegary. It is some of the best coleslaw I have had in a while. The cornbread was excellent and worth the cost. It was slightly sweet and moist without being gooey. I had unsweetened tea which was good. Their menu is pretty limited right due to having just opened but looks will be adding more soon. The decor was pretty cool and eclectic with good background music. The prices are in line with most other places in town. With my one visit, I would highly recommend this place as the 1st in my list of bbq places in town. I will visit again and update if things change.
