OPA! Grill Mediterranean American Restaurant

A great restaurant which gave me the opportunity to broaden my teenage grandson's horizon as he'd never eaten Greek-inspired foods before. I had intended to take him to the local Maid-Rite beforehand to introduce him to an Iowa specialty but was treated rather rudely (see my review of the Marshalltown Maid-Rite) and then found this unknown-to-me great restaurant where I was able to introduce him to delicious foods from another culture. We enjoyed it so much we have returned several more times since. Attentive wait staff, delicious authentic meals (I've been to Greece several times and know the cuisine quite well), and priced well. What more could you ask for in the middle of Iowa?

One of the best places we have been to in quite some time. Great service, great space and AMAZING food. Prices are low, for the quality of food, I would actually expect the prices to be higher. We are bringing extended family back here! Also, I appreciated the healthy, homemade options !

Yum! I had the Souvlaki gyro (pork gyro). My husband grew up in Greece and I have traveled there. I was impressed with what I got. The atmosphere is really nice and clean. I liked the music played and my server was very polite and timely and attentive without being annoying.

My only suggestion would be to put the fries in the gyro like how they do in Greece. It really is delicious that way, but I understand with them being separate it always both preferences of having them in if you want or keeping them separate.

The ketchup is unfortunately really weird. But the fries don’t really require it.

It's actually a four star review w/ "five stars" to give this new local restaurant all the support I can muster. Few quick things: food was good, I recommend the lemon chicken rice soup. Solid comfort food. I don't think the Greek dressing was homemade. I have my doubts due to the consistency and flavor. Ketchup, please use Heinz because your amazing fries deserves it ಠ_ʖಠ Random side note: You're bathrooms are so spectacularly clean, you could have open heart surgery in there.
