Cinco De Mayo Mexican Restaurant

Never disappointed here. I've probably had about 20 items off of their menu and everything has been delicious. It's a great last minute place, alot of bang for your buck!

Food is always good, if we have an issue it is fixed fast. Service is hit and miss though. Seems there is 1 waitress who is slow to come to the table, refill drinks and gets my order wrong more times than not, I try to not sit in her section but never works. It definitely hasn't deterred me from the food. Chipotle burritos are the bomb

We love this restaurant! Very reasonable prices, the queso is to die for, the salsa is just spicy enough that your mouth doesn't catch on fire and the waitresses are generally very very good about refills. Love how they make sure the food is great and your beverage. I order the Pollo Loco and I love mine well done to a point where it is brown on both sides and they make sure it is done correctly. I am not sure of the waiters name well the guy but he is tall, short black hair and has tats on his arm well he is great at customer service and is professional at all times. I am delighted to say they have made me rank La Hacienda at #4 and they are at so far my #1 favorite.

No kids at home tonight so wife said let's do Mexican. There are easily over a dozen Mexican restaurants on Des Moines Southside, Cinco De Mayo on SE 14TH is up there among our favorites. Food is consistent, priced right and normally quick to receive after ordering.
I normally order steak and chicken fajitas, which I did again - the only negative is the amount of soft shells that come with it. Three. That's it. Good for about half of the served food. To ask for more it's $1 for three more. That usually means I have left over for lunch the next day with soft shells from home.
