“My husband surprised me for a trip there for mother's day. I went to culinary school so I usually prefer cooking at home to going out, but this was a place I had talked about trying, if only because there aren't enough fine dining places in West Des Moines. We took my 7 year old with us. She was (as usual) ridiculously well behaved and used her manners. The staff noticed this, addressed her directly, and handled her usual chattiness with grace and understanding. We were greeted warmly immediately upon entering and I was given a very good glass of wine. We had a reservation, but it was crowded so we expected to be waiting a bit for a table. Not at all. We had time to inspect the wine wall and see a few interesting wines before we were called for our table (5 minutes maybe). We were on the patio which was very nice until it started raining. I might suggest some clear drop down tarps or something for over the screened windows. However, the staff immediately began helping people move things to tables just a bit farther from the windows. They replaced things that had gotten wet, and were really attentive. No complaints (in fact everyone there commented on the quick and understanding response.) The food was fantastic, cooked extremely well, and very balanced. We had the calamari, which all 3 of us devoured(it wasn't rubbery at all which I know from experience is very difficult to achieve), and the lobster bisque, which disappeared quickly and was very flavorful. We liked that there were different textures rather than just blended to oblivion. Husband had the mother's day special (and shared w/ me as I couldn't decide between 2 things). I had the short rib risotto (and shared w/ husband and child). Clean plates all around. The wine pairings were great choices and really brought out the different flavors. Husband also joined the wine club so that I could do wine tastings with my girl friend and we could get away for a bit. Haven't tried that yet. All in all experience was 9/10, but since the rain can't be controlled I'm giving the restaurant and staff a full 10/10. Highly recommend.”

“Wife and I went to TNT's Tacos and Tortas in Clive. Hadn't been there since they remodeled (formerly Agave). Fairly busy at lunch time, quite a few carryout orders. Anyway, had the Carnitas torta and mango drink and wife had the Pollo torta. Excellent as always! Have already been to the new one in Clive. Also had a Carnitas street taco. Be sure and visit their website or download TNT's app, as you can get signed up for their rewards program. Wife had used her $5 off b-day coupon, sent in email. Give them a try!!”

“This was. My first time eating here and I can’t wait to go back!! Everything was amazing, the staff, the food, the atmosphere and I don’t know what else to say, except I highly recommend going them a try!!! My brother had the mushroom and Swiss, my sister in law and nephew both had the barbecue bacon cheeseburger and I got a huge tenderloin. I also got my husband a pizza burger to go and he loved it!!! Their fries and onion rings are both really good too 😊”

“I worked here for about 3 years. I put forth the effort and became a watch commander, which helped me get my foot in the door for a LEO job. In regard to some of these negative reviews, this job is not for lazy individuals. The job is what you make of it. Not many companies give you the opportunity to use equipment in a squad car. One thing people mistake coming into the company is the belief that they will be armed. In this company you must prove yourself not to be a liability and prove you are a problem solver to carry a gun. Again, this company is what you make of it and it worked for me.”

“I’ve not been disappointed when I’ve dined here. I will applaud them for providing options to accommodate a gift card I had been needing to use that was so old it was for their previous POS. Great customer service on that one. I may just go back for lunch again today!”

“My colleagues and I recently had dinner at this sushi and hibachi all-you-can-eat restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. Despite the restaurant being very busy, the food was incredibly fresh and every dish was satisfying. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, always serving with a smile. Both the sushi and hibachi were excellent, making us feel that we got great value for our money. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Japanese cuisine.”

“Stop for gas on our way to Nebraska. Really clean bathrooms. And the gas pump was very quick. Also picked up some snacks for the trip and the guy at the counter was smiling and made it a pleasant experience. If I'm coming back through I'd definitely stop here. Not to mention it's right off the interstate. Fast and easy access.”

“El Muchacho Alegre just opened. My visit was May 2nd 2022. This new Mexican restaurant is in the original Don Pablo's building behind Barnes and Noble. It was nice to see this location open again. The family friendly restaurant serves a large menu of classic Mexican food. The prices seemed reasonable for the area. Plenty of parking. The same shaded patio, perfect for after work margaritas in the summer. There is updated and more seating added from the previous establishment. I think they did well to change the décor just enough to make it feel less cabin/lodge and more southwest. I was surprised to see they kept all the TVs in place and showed some sports other than soccer. The tables were spaced well. It looked like they could handle some larger parties as well. I sat at the bar, so not sure what the table service was like, but the bartender took my order for drinks quickly and served it quickly. They have a full bar with beers on tap. Chips were fresh and served with a bottle of salsa as soon as I sat down. Margarita's come in many shapes and sizes. One of the stemmed glasses behind the bar looked like it could hold a gallon. I ordered the 16oz and it was as good as most. Food came out minutes after I ordered. I hope they can keep that kind of service level going forward. I ordered the Texas Burrito. It was served with rice, beans and a bit of Pico. The white queso cheese dip served on top of the burritos was similar to other Mexican spots in the area. Next time I will get a side order of the queso for the chips. The rice and beans were nothing exciting, reminding me of the kind you can find at Chili's. I could not tell if they were made from scratch. The burritos were cooked well with seasoned cubed steak. I get this dish often at other local Mexican spots and this was as good as any. Nice big portion. It seemed like that was true for other dishes that I saw come out of the kitchen. As I mentioned the menu is pretty big. It has seafood dishes, steak and chicken dishes, and all your Mexican favorites. I did see a kids menu that did have chicken nuggets and corndogs for kiddos that do not appreciate Mexican food. I didn't see a desert menu, but did see them create a plate with ice cream on it for someone. So maybe it is a work in progress. All in all I was impressed with most everything at El Muchacho Alegre. They did really well for just opening. I will visit there again to try a few different dishes.”

“Can’t believe it has taken so long to come here. We got treated to an amazing meal. The Palestinian dessert Knafeh is the best and a special treat. The family who owns this place does so much for the community that they don’t flout about. Plz support! You can also pick up all your Mediterranean groceries here.”

“The appetizers were one of the best I have ever had in any Indian restaurant. The main course was good too. It's not as good as appetizers, but it is still delicious. The service was really good. The waiter kept on checking on us, and the food arrived quickly and warm. I will definitely be back.”

“Brunch is from 9-2. So good. There’s a bloody/mimosa bar, $17 for bottomless plus $1 for each refill. I had the breakfast bagel which came with potatoes. And we also had the avocado toast and added everything bagel seasoning and it was very good. Bloody Mary also was mixed perfectly. Lots of TV’s for sports watching, plenty of seating and garage doors for when patio season arrives.”

“Ordered the smallest calzone they had and spent $30 with tip. It tasted good, but it took a while to get our food and then to pay. Spent too much time there for a lunch break. No intentions to go back. One calzone for $30 wasn't worth it (plus $4 per topping! And there didn't seem to be much of toppings in it).”

“They have the largest portion of meat dish I have ever had. Fried chicken wings are very flavorful and yummy. The dipping sauce is fabulous. Pho special is good, loads of beef. Angry fry is good, good balance between veggies and beef. Late salad, seems like a very veggie dish, but turned out that is literally a dish of much much much beef and a little bit greens. From the top to the bottom, there are all beef. Too overwhelming with the beef for a meal. We boxed the leftover of the salad and the box can be hardly closed. Next time I will order a salad to go and add greens at home. The portion is enough for at least three meals.”

“Always looking for great Asian cuisine, especially Vietnamese/Thai oriented. Found this place and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Arrived around 3pm on Saturday, April 27 and was immediately greeted by the owner/mgr? and other staff. Started off with the fresh spring rolls, which were huge for the price. Probably almost twice as big, as we have had at other places. They were excellent!! Ordered Black Milk Tea and Thai milk boba tea, which were great. Very flavorful. Main courses consisted of Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (S1). Not a heat spicy but more flavorful spice. A large portion. The waitress even commented how impressed she was that I finished it all. Wife had the Combo Fried rice Bowl (R2). Very large portion and very tasty. She took half of it home for lunch tomorrow. All in all, I would recommend giving this place a try. Very quaint and clean and great food!”

“There are so many positive things to say about Sol Agave. Great food, great staff, great for kids and great kid's meal options with included kid's meal desserts. Sol Agave is easily one of my family's top three eateries in the DM area! Indoor and outdoor seating, and we always have a great dining experience at Sol Agave. (Chicken Fajitas pictured...so yum yum) Yes, I frequently recommend this restaurant. :)”

“We go to strange places for good fast food. As a none libations person — Krispy Chicken — inside corner of a liquor store is indeed strange. However, getting there at 11:10 AM just for the Hot out of the basket chicken, was worth tipping past the strange fruit. WILL, the attendant in charge, assured me that the Krispy Chicken would be Krunchy, Fresh, Well Seasoned and Temperature Ready. Indeed it was! While well in to Lent, I am anxious to try their — cooked to order — Cod Filet!”

“Great food specially the goat curry was amazing. They have recently introduced lunch buffet from Mon-Fri which is priced at $15. Not too many items but enough to have a filling meal. Suggest to have few more dessert items. 1 star down because of 18% gratuity added as 6 of us dinned in. 18% gratuity does not make sense for a buffet. Rest all is great!”

“This is one of my favorite places to get a burrito in town. I've been going to their taco truck down the street for a few years now and it's always great and this is the same experience except the restaurant has expanded hours and also serves special items and ice cream. Management and staff are so friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes. My mouth is watering and I'm getting hungry just writing this review!”

“Best tacos in Clive. Right on 86th St, light beige truck. $3 a tacos, the meat is cooked very well. Don't fade these tacos. Skip the taco bell and drive 2 minutes down here. You'll thank yourself later. I eat these every week. I'd eat these every day, but I gotta watch my weight for summer.”
