Don't let the outside scare you away. Their building needs some exterior TLC. My wife and I went on a Saturday night. We are new to the area and have been looking for an Indian food restaurant. The food here was excellent. Best chicken tikka masala I've ever had. Lots of spices visible throughout and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Vegetable samosas are tasty and again cooked very well; not greasy whatsoever. The filling of the samosas is a potato lentil pea combination that is terrific. Garlic naan was very light and fluffy and crispy. My wife got the vegetable Curry and she also was very happy with the dish. This is a small family owned business with a small staff. I would guess service may be an issue if they were busy. Keep in mind the food will be worth it. Not a place to stop if you are in a hurry.
We are new to Indian food. This place is amazing. Everything we tried was delicious. The hostess was short staffed but still managed to give great service. She was very helpful with recommending new dishes to try and very patient with our mispronunciations.
The decoration and ambiance are great, may be the best South Asian restaurant in the whole Des Moines. But the biriyani was little low on taste. I would like to suggest one thing - please avoid using cashew in biriyani. I have lots of Indian and Bangladeshi friends, none of them fond of cashew at all.
We love this restaurant! Don’t be fooled by the looks in the outside - the inside is beautiful and comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The staff is great, and the food is amazing!!
The outside of the restaurant is unassuming, but once inside, the food is a wonderful surprise. We both had the buffet for lunch and the chicken Tikka was my favorite. I love that the buffet had fresh fruit, sugar balls with rice pudding, and hot tea. Also, the fresh unlimited naan our waitress brought to the table was fabulous and piping hot. Don't forget to try all of the dipping sauces!
