Smitty's Tenderloin Shop

All around the food was great and hot when served. We live out of town but would go back when on the south side. Very ????. Keep up the great work.

It’s our first stop after every flight into Des Moines. We crave their breaded pork tenderloin sandwich with white cheddar cheese curds!! Don’t change a thing.

Great tenderloins and onion rings. Usually get to go. Typically, the onion rings are popping hot when we pick up. However, this time they were barely warm.

Great tenderloin. The small sandwich is larger than the bun but is not pounded thin like some places, it was maybe a quarter inch thick. The breading was very crispy but could use a bit of seasoning. Onion rings are thin, shoestring style and the portion is large enough to share. The space is a classic diner with counter seating and open kitchen. We visited on Friday evening, they were pretty busy with dine in and carry out but the service very quick. Will definitely come here again when Im in the area.

Walking into Smitty's was like walking into a diner in the past! It is small and cozy but quick and delicious. There were 4 employees keeping the busy place efficient, clean, and fun! Wendy was our happy and knowledgeable server who aimed to please. We are happy and full! Of course, Smitty's is known for the tenderloin but I asked what else do we need. Wendy recommended burgers and cutlet sandwich. We had a cutlet sandwich, small tenderloin, onion rings, French fries, soda and milkshake. All were great, but the tenderloin with French Fries were my favorite! We will be back and if you haven't been, go for it. Smitty's is a place to bring family and friends; it's just small so plan ahead with tables greater than 4.
