Have had an excellent lunch on 3 different occasions. A hidden gem.
Surprised and pleased! I expected a Mom and Pop neighborhood BAR with a limited menu heavy on burgers and fries - instead I found a menu with about ten appetizers including a sampler plate. We got the sampler and chips and guacamole - the guacamole was freshly prepared and was very good. Pastas, both traditional and some Mexican fusion choices. I ordered the Pasta Diablo with chicken (also available with shrimp). Que Rico! My wife ordered a barbecue chicken sandwich and ate every bite despite eating her share of the appetizers. Our friends ordered a jamon torta (Mexican-style ham sandwich) and the special of the evening. This was a shrimp soup (caldo de camarón). The soup was loaded with veggies in a tomato broth. The entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. The soup of the day was tomato bisque and clearly was made from scratch. Live piano music on Thursdays from 6 to 9. Alejandro, owner/chef, came to our table and shared how some of the inspiration for the latin flavors came from his mother, a native of Guanajuato, Mexico. When we had eaten all we could, he personally served us a lime gelatin in small champagne saucers, over which he poured some Bailey's with a flourish. This was an off-menu dessert that he was thinking about adding to the menu. We strongly encouraged him to do so! We'll be baaaack!
Great food and wonderful experience! They have a great Sunday deal of $10 burger with a free domestic draft! Definitely worth checking them out!
Awesome place...super friendly. Food is AMAZING!!! Most friendly, wonderful service that seems hard to find nowadays! They were super nice to stay open longer than supposed to just for us! Very personable people...Highly recommended. This is our new favorite place! Love that its tucked away...hidden jewel for sure but well worth the treasure hunt!!
For the first time in all of my reviewing, I wish I could give 6 stars. I have never had nachos that made an impression on me until today and mind you I've spent years working in a kitchen. The staff is incredibly friendly and radiates pride in the work they do. They are attentive and very easy to speak and relate to. The kitchen is open and is immaculate. Everything is not only clean but is polished as well. Best margarita I have had in town. All ingredients were super fresh. Only down side I had was that I got full before I was able to try everything i wanted. I will be back, hopefully sooner than later.
