Love the pesto salmon sandwich. Great combo, especially paired with the tomato feta soup!
We were very pleased to find this gem! Food was wonderful and the staff were friendly and polite. Brussel sprouts are a MUST!
This restaurant is located in the heart of the historic Grinnell business district. We went in there at 2PM for a late lunch. The diversity of their lunch menu is amazing and showed tremendous imagination in the choices offered. We oped for the Canary Burger. It came cooked as we had requested and it confirmed my long held belief that for a burger to be great, that it has to be a little messy to eat! We had ours with blue cheese, bacon, carmelized onions and salad greens. Our sides of hand cut fries were also very good. We were impressed with the staff who appeared to be students from Grinnell College. They were knowledge, very accommodating, and hardworking. We particularly appreciated our server who was there when she should have been, but otherwise left us free to enjoy our meals and conversation. The ambiance is sort of industrial, but open and friendly. We will visit it again!
I was surprised to find this place. I will definitely return. Friendly staff and nice facility. Food didn’t seem to fresh. I had the chicken and biscuits. Not great. Up your game on the food side. That’s my recommendation. I’ll return soon for a second dip.
Absolutely love the atmosphere!!!! I had the vodka pasta with added chicken...it was delicious!!! I paired that with the basil drop for a drink, which was delightful. My son ordered the red curry with shrimp with additional apple salad....he devoured it all. My husband got the roasted duck....he said it was fantastic. He also ordered the fig about it drink and it was excellent. We finished dinner with the creme brulee which was the best I've ever had!!!!
