“Prairie Grill offers an all you can eat fish fry on both Friday and Saturday. This in hotel restaurant has a full menu but I do not ever ordering anything other then the fish fry, it is that good. It is Alaskan cod I think? They offer it either fried or backed. There is a dinning or you can eat in the bar. Toni (the bartender) is very sociable with a great table side manner.”

The gravy on top of the chicken was dry looking, and most have been sitting a while before being brought out. But the fried chicken was very good and the sides were pretty good. “The Portillo’s gods have heard our prayers- FINALLY a Portillo’s in Iowa!!! If you are new here, order at the line at the end of the building and then wait for your slice of heaven to be served. To me, there’s only one way to do Portillo’s- get that hot beef sandwich, with hot and sweet peppers on it, get it dry-with gravy on the side; along with a Chicago dog and a chocolate cake shake. This will be followed by a food coma nap, and a wave of euphoria of happiness. The strawberry shortcake is delicious too. Same with the cheese fries. Seeing a theme here? Amazing customer service and all around happy vibes. Watching the kitchen is like seeing the finest and most efficiently well-oiled machine you’ve ever seen. It will be busy. It will be worth the wait. Stop reading this and go experience it for yourself!”

“The Chicago dog with a limeade is so good!!! Don’t get the onion rings, the are terrible. However, that’s not hurting the rating for two reasons. 1) The same is true for any sonic I’ve ever been to. 2) The staff are very friendly, and when we went through the drive thru on a particularly hot day, one of the kind ladies in the window offered him a bit of ice cream. We gladly accepted and allowed our dog some of it to cool him down! I will go to this sonic just for that. It was the better customer service than I’ve encountered at any Sonic previously. But seriously, the limeade is delicious. Try it.”

“Actually I took a chance going to Golden Corral. Let me explain. I have been to various buffets before and many of them serve institutionalized, bland, tasteless food and that includes some casinos! So you can see why I was a little apprehensive. Well it was the TV advertisements again that swayed me into dropping my guard and giving Golden Corral a chance. And I'm glad I did!!! Great steaks, shrimp, pot roast, all kinds of chicken, and pork. Plus they offer a wide variety of vegetables plain, creamed, in cheese sauce, or steamed. There's a COMPLETE salad bar with all the extra trimmings plus fruits. And there's a taco and burrito section plus a soup bar that includes some great chili! And don't miss out on the dessert area loaded with delicious goodies ranging from ice cream and puddings to all kinds of pies, cookies, and too many more delights to list here! The most surprising feature I found at Golden Corral was that everything I chose to eat tasted great!!! Really, I'm not kidding and I don't have low expectations! It was all (well at least 96%) edible. Hey nobody likes all foods and that includes me! So yes I do recommend Golden Corral. It's not a dress up place to go as you can tell by some of the clientele but it's a friendly, happy, and polite place to enjoy some great food.”
