Excellent food and intimate place in Garden City. Spiced perfectly. Large dishes. Service is informal but that’s because it’s a family business and as other reviews have commented, adds to the charm. Recommend it for an international experience.

Wonderfully tasty food! Seasoned well. Beautiful presentation. Just the sort of little gem we love. We will eat here every time we come into Garden City.

Delicious, and portions are massive. Neither my husband nor I could finish our meals (#6 and #11). If you’re unfamiliar with traditional African-style eating, you may be surprised by not receiving cutlery with your meal. Instead, at this restaurant, you tear off pieces of the injera (an Ethiopian bread similar to a crepe consistency) and use that to scoop up the food, eating the injera with it. It’s delicious and efficient…but you’ll want to wash your hands before your meal!

The food was excellent! The lamb was wonderfully spiced and cooked well, although it was a bit tough. The injera was good, and there was plenty served. I ordered fresh mango juice, which is more of a purée, and that was disappointing and not flavorful. Maybe an underripe mango was used. Service was very friendly, although very informal. This is clearly a family business, but the kids and the informality only add to the charm. I’ll be back to try more dishes next time I’m in Garden!

Amazing, I've had African food in Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Asia. Food here is just as amazing. I hope next time I get a chance to travel to Africa.
