Had kind of a rough trip to Iowa this time, so when I finally got back to Dodge City, I was craving a steak & baked potato. Googled nearby restaurants, perused some menus, drove to Casey's. I ordered the steak & shrimp. The steak was juicy & delicious, the potato more than satisfied, & the shrimp were well-seasoned. My waitress, Vanessa, was friendly, attentive, & had a great sense of humor. If you get out on E. Wyatt Earp Blvd. by Underpass Rd., you owe it to yourself to stop in.

For a small town steakhouse, five stars. Perfectly grilled medium rare strip, my business colleague loved his ribeye. Worth the trip if you're in town for sure.

If the steak wasn't bang on, I'd bring it down to three stars for prepacked margarine, no real butter available, packets of sour cream for the baked potato, and plastic plates. Five stars isn't to indicate it was a fine dining experience, just to be clear.

But, this isn't the Golden Ox in KC or the W in New York, right? For a cattle town, they did steak right, and my perfect medium rare was all that mattered. In context of the small town it's in, 5 stars.

Over 6'2"? Tables are pretty low and uncomfortable, but at 6'5" i made it work.

I've had the t-bone special twice. It came with a choice of potato, salad, veggie of the day, and rolls. The first time came with corn which wasnt worth eating- not sweet or tender. My bf put "butter" and salt on his but still didn't finish it. The second time was green beans that were great. The potato choices were always good. The salad was fine but small. But I'm always happy to get a salad that doesn't require me to dig out rotten pieces. The rolls are even pretty decent, they'd be better if real butter was offered instead of margarine but I digress. The steaks were very good! I will choose Casey's for steak over Prime on the Nine any day. The meat was tender and lovely, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked.

The star of our meal both times we have been is the calf fries! If they're on a menu anywhere we go, my boyfriend orders them. These are THE BEST we've had in Dodge City!!! Not too much breading, great flavor and texture. The only better come from my own kitchen fresh from the field. In fact, they are available as a meal and I think that's what I'll get next time.

We also had their version of a blooming onion. Very good! Beautiful seasoning and well cooked. Even my non onion appreciating boyfriend liked it.

We will definitely be back and will be happy to do so!
