The Restaurant at 1900

Ok its my favorite restaurant in KC. Lunch or Dinner it doesn't matter its always great, inventive, warm, and upscale without being off putting. I usually feel like the younger table in the restaurant when I bring other 30 year olds to eat here and I think its a bit of an unknown gem which all works in your favor. (we also always go to dinner early). Drinks are amazing and if you have questions the staff will always help guide you to where you want to get.

I was in town for business and looking for something other than barbecue (was going to have it during my conference). Boy was I glad I found this place! I was seriously underdressed in my travel sweats, but no one seemed to care. The service was impeccable and the waiter made an excellent wine suggestion that paired with my meal. I had the tomato and smoked haddock risotto. Delicious! This is a great place for a special meal, or just to treat yourself.

Wonderful Cobb salad for lunch. Not overly busy, so it was easy to carry on a conversation. Not so quiet that it felt like everyone could hear our conversation either. Easy parking on the north side of the building.

1900 is easily in my top five restaurants in KC. The price point is higher but if you stop in for lunch it's much more reasonable. The food quality is some of the finest, there has never been one bad dish. I definitely recommend stopping in.

Complex simplicity. The staff is welcoming and discreet. The strengths are in the proteins and vegetables. The weaknesses are in the pasta and dessert offerings. Having said that, everything I tasted was better than most highly rated restaurants in Kansas City. Recommended! Enjoy...
