Took the family here for the first time last night! GREAT service from waiter CJ! it's a little pricey but good food and lovely atmosphere! We will be coming back. Also my kiddo's cheeseburger and fries - surprising really good!
First time at Tacos and Tequila Restaurant in Overland Park. What a nice surprise. A lot of new menu items and a great experience. Gabriella was so helpful, explaining the menu and choices. We had the Molcajete Ranchero and the Tacos Al Pastor with street corn. Both were delicious and full of unique flavors. She said "if you have had these before and they were not memorable, try ours", so we did. She was right, these were memorable. We had the food, a margarita and two beers and there was plenty for the three of us. All for under $60 before tip.
The building still had a bit of the prior Applebee's feel but the remodeled atmosphere is light and friendly. The bar is a good size and the staff is friendly and effective.
We eat at a lot of midwest Mexican restaurants in town and this is a good one. It is busy, so you might have a wait, but it is worth it. I definitely recommend giving them a try. I know that we will be going back and I'm pretty sure that you will too.
Tried this new restaurant tonight. It was packed and had a wait at 5:30. I don't mind waiting for good food, but this wasn't very good food based on what we ordered. We were expecting it to be really good due to the crowd. The salsa was bland. I read on someone else's review there were different salsas. We didn't see that in the menu and it wasn't mentioned. We decided to try the cheese queso sauce. It looked and tasted like melted cheese with nothing else to add some flavor (and it was $6). There wasn't really enough staff for the crowd, however they were very friendly and nice. The food we got wasn't the best. My husband got the steak enchiladas. The meat was a bit grisly. The rice was tasty. I got 1 beef and 1 chicken enchilada. When we got our food, my chicken enchilada was barely warm, and kind of bland. The ground beef one was at least warm. The rice and beans were ok. My husband liked his frozen strawberry margarita. With all the choices of different Mexican restaurants in our area, we won't be back to this one. I do wish them luck though.
Our first time at Tacos & Tequila was great, our waiter, CJ, was friendly and awesome! We had the Queso Fundita Al Pastor as an appetizer and Loaded Rice (Arroz Texano) and Fajitas as our entrees. The appetizer was different but worth a try! Our entrees were both great and will make for good leftovers. We’ll definitely be return customers!
Wow! Excellent everything! Cucumber margarita and house margarita were fantastic - carnitas and carne asada also delicious. We loved the cheese dip too. Can’t wait to come back - don’t change a thing!
